Governance Scope

On-Chain Voting

Once the Governance Token is live, Alpha Music will utilize the Arbitrum or Ethereum blockchain to implement changes to the platform. This process ensures a commitment to transparency, and fairness to all participants.

Off-Chain Voting

Prior to the launch of the Governance Token, Alpha Music will gauge community sentiment via feedback channels, such as Discord and Social Media. Additionally, the platform may host periodic votes on Discord to implement changes, or facilitate temp checks.

Participants

Alpha Music seeks to ensure a fair and open approach to implementing platform changes. Any change, no matter how small, can have significant impacts upon the Platform and Ecosystem. We believe those who have the platform's best interests in mind, are those who contribute to it the most. Thus, our governance model gives power to contributors.

Token Holders

Alpha Music Governance Token holders are the main source of platform governance. Once the Governance Token is live, users with any amount of tokens may submit and vote on proposals to implement changes to the platform. Additionally, $Leverage and $Create tokens will contain some governance power, but will carry less weight compared to Governance Tokens.

Alpha Music Core Team

Prior to the launch of the Governance Token, the Alpha Music Core Team will handle platform development. Anyone is welcome to apply, submit feedback, or request information from the ACMT. The ACMT is committed to transparency and the health of the Alpha Music ecosystem.

Temp Checks

At any point in time, any Alpha Music Governance Participant may submit a temp check. Temp checks are meant to gauge community sentiment surrounding a particular topic, without a necessary change proposal. Periodically, the Alpha Music Core Team will raise temp checks to provide progress updates, and to garner community feedback.

Alpha Music Proposals for Change

Alpha Music Proposals for Changes are the official channel for implementing or adjusting features on the Alpha Music Platform. When the governance token is live, any holder may submit an AMPC.

Discussion Period

To ensure collaboration in our governance system, all AMPCs will have a minimum discussion period of 7 days. The maximum amount of time an AMPC may be discussed is 35 days. If an AMPC attracts increasing levels of controversy, it may be converted into a temp check to facilitate research and debate over a longer period of time.

Voting Period

To allow a fair opportunity for all participants to cast their vote, the minimum amount of time an AMPC may be voted on is 72 hours. The maximum amount of time in which an AMPC may be voted on is 7 days.

Veto Opportunity

When an AMPC is in the Voting Period, the AMCT may veto the proposal. Upon veto, the AMPC may be moved back to the Discussion Period, or may be downgraded to a Temp Check.

The AMCT reserves the Veto action for extreme scenarios, such as malicious governance manipulation.

Implementation

Once an AMPC has been successfully voted on, any subsequent changes will be be made via smart contract integration, as described in the AMPC. In the event platform changes described the relevant AMPC are not smart contract implementations, then the AMCT will inact all requested changes in an appropriate time frame.
