Governance Token

The Governance Token is still under development and is subject to change.

Purpose

The Alpha Music governance model is founded on Proof of Contribution. To ensure democratic representation, and to allow the platform to maintain its autonomy, all updates to the platform must be voted on by Governance Token holders. Each Governance Token contains the same amount of voting weight, allowing every user to have an equal access to the evolution of the protocol. Additionally, as users contribute to the platform, they will be acknowledged with Governance Tokens. This allows users who provide more contributions to the platform to carry a respective amount of governance energy, diminishing the effects of class centralization (Governance Power being absorbed by wealthy users), and inactive seniority (long-time token holders who have not made recent contributions.)

Seasonal Supply

The Governance Token will have an initial supply of 100,000 tokens. This is set to be minted on or around January 1st, 2025. On this date, will begin Season 1 of Alpha Music's Ambassador Program. During Season 1, Ambassadors will earn points, just like they have been. After the season is ended, these points will be considered for a round of Governance Token minting. The amount of Governance Tokens minted will depend on the volume of contributions made in the current season based on previous seasons. The next Ambassador Season begins immediately when an existing one is finished.
